Hello, my name is PT Bratton (AKA Pastor Ty). I am a Military Veteran, Marketplace Minister & Clean Comedian working and living in the DMV.

From a young age, I felt that God had a plan and purpose for my life. And at the age of seven, I made a decision that would change the course of my life forever. I decided to make Jesus Christ the lord over my life. Seven years later I felt that God required more from me, so at the age of fourteen I answered God’s call to preach and have been ministering ever since.

After graduating from high school, I enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 10 years. During my time in the military I earned two degrees; an Associate degree in Criminal Justice and a Bachelor degree in Religious Studies. During my time in the military I also found my “good thing,” my wife of almost 15 years, Vida Bratton. And God has blessed our union with two amazing boys, Micah and Matthew.

Three years after getting married I separated from the Air Force to pursue graduate studies full time, earning a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree in Practical Theology. After finishing my MDiv program, I decided to continue my education at Duke University, where I earned a Doctoral degree in Leadership.

“Don’t let the fear of failure push you out of your purpose.”

- PT Bratton

But I am more than just a veteran and a minister, I am also a pretty funny comedian. As a graduate of the Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) Comedy Bootcamp, I have performed at top entertainment venues such as the Warner Theatre, the FunnyBone, the D.C. Improv, and the Gotham Comedy Club in New York city. I have also performed for veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, Google, Amazon, and the White House. My work has been featured in the Virginian Pilot, WHRO's Comedy Bootcamp Documentary, and Audible Original Strong Ending narrated by Mary-Louise Parker.

I firmly believe that God has given me the gift of laughter to reach people with a message of hope and healing. In an era of comedy saturated with expletives and suggestive material, there is an apparent lack of good clean comedy where everyone can get their laugh on. So, in 2015 I started LaughItOff Comedy, a clean comedy experience, featuring some of the best comedians from the DMV and surrounding areas. To reach a culture as diverse as ours, it is imperative to think strategically and be intentional in using every gift God has given to build His kingdom and bless others!

Grace and peace,
